Max Kortlander is an American writer currently residing in Amsterdam. He got his start as an editorial intern for Canteen Magazine and The Tottenville Review. He has collaborated on many commercial treatments for brands that include McDonald’s, Goodyear, Apple, and Adidas. As an international freelance copy editor, he has worked with New York Times best-selling authors and many non-native English speakers on academic, fictional, and commercial writing, and he is currently editing the first English book of a Dutch novelist. He has served as a researcher for Greenpeace International and a consultant at Jump Goat Media in Nashville, where he wrote, directed, and edited commercials for local clients. He has a Bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University and a Master’s in Media Studies: New Media and Digital Cultures from the University of Amsterdam. He is a native of Ohio, and when he’s not working he enjoys songwriting, recording, and musical performance.
